There is a significant of individual differences on breast development. Especially in recent years, most of people have good nutrition so some eight- or nine- year-old girl begin breast development. However, there are still a small number of girls start breast developments until they are sixteenth year old or above. Some of girls have unbalanced breast sizes during breast development. Under normal circumstances, it is very difficult for bilateral breasts to develop identically. It is very common that one breast is larger than the other or one breast sit higher on the chest than the other.
There is no influence on reproductive and sexual function for those women with asymmetric breast and there are no negative effects on health. It is because mammary gland growth is affected by female hormone. Two breasts have different response to female hormone. Therefore; compare with the other, mammary gland growth in one breast may be more active and appears bigger.
Especially for adolescent girls, it is normal for breasts on both sides to develop at different rates or different physical maturity. When breasts on both sides reach maturity, they tend towards consistency in size. Adolescent girls should understand and learn breast care and breast health knowledge and have correct knowledge about puberty development and physiological phenomena. Don’t worry about your asymmetric breast because of peer influence and don’t attempt to bind your breast or enhance breast development. Incorrect method will hinder future normal development.
