After birth, your breast size increases. You are credited with childcare but you don’t forget take care of your breasts. Correct choice of bras is essential for breast protection.
After birth, you should choose cotton bra for supporting breast and helping to improve blood circulation to the breast area. You will get a heavy feeling in your breasts because the breast milk accumulates in your breasts. Thus, nursing bras should be equipped with wide, non slip bra straps. You can release each breast for feeding by opening zip on each side or hook on each bra straps.
Post natal mothers can wear nursing bra designed to make breastfeeding more convenient and have protection effect. Beside, figure-shape underwear can modify breast curve, uplift breast and prevent breast sagging. New mothers are recommended to put it on after puerperium.
Selection nursing bra recommendation:
1. Convex portion of bra cup converges upward and look for deep centre at the front. Such construction can lift the breast upward. It is the best to be full cup bra made of thin, elastic knitted cotton fabrics.
2. Buy bra that hooks in front or select nursing bra having fastening elements on lateral sides of each bra cup such that the bra can be opened for breastfeeding.
3. Underwire support bra can uplift and support your breast.
4. Bra straps should be in a vertical direction and wide enough so that it does not cause shoulder soreness due to full breasted.
5. Wide under-bust band and is made of stretchy fabrics (Cotton lycra). You need larger cup size if your band is riding up in the back.
6. Color of bra should be raw white. It is because pure white color bra contains bleaching agent which cause uncomfortable irritation of the skin and is harmful to infant health.
