Making a Present More Personal
Her Interests
What is she interested in? By picking something to do with what she is interested in (a) you know she should like it, (b) It shows you listen to her, and know her as an individual.
Going Bespoke
By going for something bespoke, you can take something that might otherwise be a lot less exciting and customise it for her. With bespoke gifts it is the little details that matter. This could be picking her favourite colour, or personalising something with her name and a meaningful message. This shows that you have put thought into it, that you have been thinking about her and what she would like.
Presentation
Presentation makes a difference. You would dress up in your best suit, shirt, tie and cufflinks to present yourself for an important interview. In the same way, you would want to make the most of the present you have bought her. Presentation can turn an ordinary gift into a good gift, and a good gift into a great gift. There is more to presentation than just wrapping, so if you know that you are not very good at wrapping don’t worry, there are other ways to impress her.
Your options on presentation will depend on what you have bought her, so not everything will be suitable. Giving her a present when you are out for dinner, or have cooked her a wonderful meal, will make it feel more special. Timing can make a difference. Try surprising her when you are out somewhere, or when she comes home from work - it will mean so much more than if she is expecting it. You want her to remember you giving her the gift for all the right reasons. The art of presentation is to make it memorable through the detail – the place, were you all dressed up, was it a surprise, were there small details like candles, rose petals scattered around it, was it fragranced with her favourite perfume etc…
